Privacy policy
This policy explains what we collect when you use Lawyer Direct, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you submit a request for help we collect your name, email, optional phone number, city, practice area, preferred contact method, and the description you write. Attorneys who apply for a listing provide professional contact and practice details.
How we use it
We use your request to make it available to attorneys who handle that type of matter in your area, to follow up about your request, and to improve the service. Attorneys receive the details needed to evaluate and respond to your matter.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share the content of your request with anyone other than attorneys and service providers involved in responding to it, unless the law requires it.
Analytics
We record aggregate usage such as page views and listing views to understand what's useful. This data is not used to identify you personally.
Retention and your choices
We keep request records while they're needed to provide the service and for a reasonable period afterward. You can ask us to delete your information or correct it at any time by contacting us.
Security
Data is stored with access controls that limit each account to its own records. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid including highly sensitive details in a free-text description.
